- Basically, I'm cheap as all hell but I don't want to look like it. I've also been described a "tree-hugger." I live in an area where the cost-of-living is high and my salary is low. Yet I still managed to buy a home at the age of 25, pay off my car, make sure my dog and I don't starve, and look pretty darn pulled together in the process (or so I'm told). So I think I know a little something about pulling this frugal/chic thing off. Take notes people!
